While i agree with you that there are problems with privately run businesses, I don't see other public run prisons running any better.
We need professional juries as well.

Agreed. The day the US privatizes the prison system is the day I leave it and take my tax money to another country.
sharePrisons are being privatized. Even publicly-funded prisons have contracted with private businesses to administer services. My father was a prison psychologist who saw the psychological "services" (basically consisting of record-keeping, and no counseling or rehabilitation of prisoners) privatized while he was still working. They contracted with private services for food, medical, and administrative staff. When he left, it appeared they were going to do the same with prison guards. The end result has been that our tax money pays for privatized prison services.
shareIf this could happen to children for doing basically nothing, what do you think is happening to people who smoke marijuana or talk back to the police. Capitalism used to be to cornerstone of this country but greed completely ruined capitalism. Privatization of anything now brings corruption at some point and time especially in Amrica.
