"Son-of-a-bitch must pay!!"
We know, the show is scripted.
Television is scripted.
It's still an interesting show.

Did they really decide the winners before hand? I remember in the first few episodes I saw this season, everyone that was featured in the show lost. So did they just get tired of having their cast lose all the time and decided to pay for them to win towards the end?
shareThere were cons that syfy gave cash prize. I think around $1k contribution. In one con, the judges didn't give the win to the cast and the producers got pissed (rumor). One of the winners of that con wasn't given the cash even if it was advertised by the show. The con eventually gave the prize from their own pocket. The other one was where one of the cast won in the first season. Nothing is proved, just judge for yourself. IMO they can't hand it out in advance because what if they end up with a sucky cosplay and someone else did much better? But on the other hand, syfy has edited out winners and good performances in the past. So there.

They don't usually feature cosplays that aren't "that" popular. Maybe there's footage of it but no mention of what it is. In the last episode, they showed the Snow White group but I don't think they mentioned that it won (probably because the footage they had wasn't good enough. The group did a walk on but won best in skit.)
shareSo do you guys think there will be another season? Or did Syfy burn to many bridges with cons and fans alike?
shareOne of the crabcat girls just posted on tumblr that she's done. IDK. There's a rumor Yaya has signed on for 5?7? seasons. So I dunno. The show can deal with the backlash online, but their problem is with the people who they share the cons with. If nobody allows them to film, they won't have a show in the first place.

Oh thats pretty sad to hear about Jessica. She seemed like she really enjoyed what she was doing. Anyway I found this article by one of the judges, Ryan Frye. Interesting stuff:
http://highseas27.tumblr.com/post/90664049869/heroes-of-cosplay-judge-ryan-frye-responds-to-the
That's the first well-written response in defense of the show that I've read. He doesn't answer much but it is empty of negative emotions or bitter entitlement. Another one was Carl's apology embedded on the Truth about Heroes of Cosplay post which I thought was pretty genuine.
The rest of the cast's reaction about the issue is pretty terrible. I like the crab cat girls but their tumblr posts about the issue makes me face palm even more. I don't expect any of them to have PR acumen but I did hope someone from the show would advise them how to respond to the online hate they're receiving. But apparently it ends up fueling the drama even more. If this is their publicity strategy then good for them. At least they're getting the Kardashian fame the producers were asking for in the first place.

Sad face because it's my last night in London and I also seemed to have developed bronchitis. But at least I'm in my favorite pub - the Marquis Cornwallis in Russell Square (go sometime if you get a chance!!) <3
Yeah, it was pretty obvious when they gave a "best embroidery" award to one of the girls so the show's contestants wouldn't get shut out.

Just scripted to make it look like they went on a journey blah blah, and became better cosplayers towards the end, even though most of them are professional already.
