Looks like the Heroes got the memo on their performances last season

So far, the heavy drama and bitching that happened during the first season is absent. Hope they keep it that way, and show more of the happiness that Cosplay is about as opposed to the glory hogging and pettiness that was in the last season. Good first show people!! Keep it up

Yup. Very good first episode of the season (or second half of season 1? I haven't figured it all out yet). Anyway, I really enjoy this simple little show. I love Chloe and Crabcat Industries. This show is fun.

With great power comes great responsibility.

Chloe and the Crabcat girls are my favorites, I loved them last season too. They're not all about their image, they want to have fun too.
I was very pleased to see that there was no drama on last nights episode, hope it keeps up.

I will admit I was annoyed that Yaya is back.

I liked this episode a lot better also, I like how they highlighted other cosplayers who weren't on the show, focused more on them making their projects and more of their information is given.

the editing of the last season just made drama out of molehills. Sad that some of the cosplayers are returning to show that isn't completely who they are or were though.

I miss Victoria beating up her man
plus it mad it a little fun
plus don't think there was to much cattiness
but I think it should focus more on how do you make this stuff also

I still didn't appreciate the whole burlesque internet skit. Forcing sex appeal into cosplay (which isn't what cosplay should be about) is still in full force. Not to mention also the whole "OMG, i got a week to finish this costume that I haven't started yet instead of starting months in advance!" thing. That is just stupid.

reply

It was pretty lame, but hey...that crowd is dominated by 30 year old virgins, so those kinds of costumes are going to rack up the fans and cameras.

reply

that may have been true 20 years ago dude...no longer. Those "virgins" grew up, got married, had kids, and bring the whole family now-a-days.

I hate IMDB's Signature policy...

That's still in the editing on quite a bit of that. If you follow many of the cosplayers on the show on their facebook, twitter, instagram, deviantart accounts you see they are typically working on most of that stuff months in advance also. They are also typically working on multiple items at one time.

often the comments of one week was on one specific section of a cosplay, most of the people on the show have other jobs to help pay for this stuff so it's working in the evenings etc.

For most of them the week before is more trying to finish stuff up because they are doing multiple projects at once and time got away from them.

Agreed. I just watched 1st episode and it was so much better without the added drama.

My only suggestion is that I'd rather see more of the other contestants' costumes (like maybe if this series was more a general documentary than following these specific people). Like I wish they'd showcase more in depth info on the other competitors at the cons. Some of these people they show on stage for a brief second have costumes that are way more awesome than the people featured on the show (like skull kid, Knight of sagittarius, metal gear rising group, etc) Sorry but the She-Ra and the pokemon group costumes were retarded.

tl;dr: I wish theyd interview/semi-follow around all the top people with costumes at the cons instead of these specific people who often have really crapass costumes compared to the other people that they show in the contests.

reply

I totally agree. Many of the people they follow on this show appear amateur hour compared to the ones we only get a glimpse of during competitions. They ramp up the "Will they win?!" drama every time, but when most of the featured costumes are spray painted PVC tubing, it's no surprise when they lose.
