The ending?
Could someone please explain the ending. It was quite confusing. Who was the lady who picked up the toy and why were he thinking about all the conversations he had earlier? What is the connection?
shareThe toy was hand made and placed in Jahveed's basket when he was left at the orphanage. Presumably it was his mother who recognized the toy she had made years ago.
As to the ending, I'm a little unsure about it. It appears to imply they are reenacting the legend Jahveed told Mr. Nicholas, about the man who loved a woman below his station and was sealed in a tomb with her so they could be together forever.
