What happened to landlord lady?

She got tagged by the thing in the wall, then vanished for the rest of the movie. For the whole rest of the movie I was waiting for her to pop up either possessed by the thing, or with otherwise some repercussions. We got nothing. What gives?

Thoughts? Theories?

No she wasn't. After she was attacked by the hole you never see her or hear of her again.

the significance of this woman is to establish that The Hole is both dangerous and jealous. Nothing more.

That might be but it was lazy writing to not have her show up after being attacked by the thing in the wall.

the whole thing was clearly a surreal fantasy... a lot of stuff isn't explained at all (the hole, for one!). i think she was simply symbolic of his last chance to have a "normal" relationship before going full-on insane into his fantasy art world. what happened to her isn't important (or even real).
