Where did the money come from?

This movie does a terrible job explaining the story.

1. They have harsh thick accents so I couldn't understand the first half hour of the movie.

2. They break into a house....seem to have a plan. Somehow get millions of dollars in a van, for some reason the boss is tied up and waiting in it...

Like the whole story makes no sense. The tension is great...but I have no idea what actually happened.
