The movie must have cost about 12 dollars to make. It's a two person thing in the desert of all places.

I thought the plot was similar to a Movie of the Week, I saw as a kid, called Savages. Would I pay to watch it? Nope. Some remakes are just that, remakes.
On a side note: In the original movie, I could have sworn that the Madec character was played by Ben Gazarra, but it was played by Andy Griffith.

I concur. This film is really dumb. I kept waiting for some twist, or even some degree of intelligence in the storyline (something connected to something else?), but it never came. Glad I didn't pay to see it.
