A Safe House. It's not unheard of.
This theme has been around for a long time. I first saw it used in Brotherhood of the Rose (1989).

Not an entire professional building with a secretary and everything ...just seemed a bit surreal to me ..

This movie was meant to be unrealistic, so I was okay with it. If it set itself up as a gritty crime thriller, it'd be a different matter.

It's based on a comic, so that probably explains some of the fantasy elements.

Brotherhood took it lot further. There was even a resort where they can vacation.

That sounds slappy bitties!
