This great film was kind of a Coen Brothers vibe....

After a half hour or so, especially when things got really good with the fantastic mix of dark human behavior and slapstick, I began to wonder if I'd missed that it was directed by the Coen brothers!

Alas, not.

It had that kind of tone and vibe some of their films have, though.

Brilliant film, anyway. Skilled writing, directing and...masters class in acting from Kate and Judy.

And a real star turn, too, from Hugo Weaving. His opening line in the film almost made me wee myself! (I couldn't figure out HOW and WHY he was saying that..."Dior?.........)."

Oh god.

Agreed!
Definitely more than a touch of Coen-isms throughout.

Two for flinching!
