The way she lost Teddy. I don't know why but I can't forget that moment. I haven't read the book so I wasn't expecting it at all.

What do you think of this movie? People in your theatre liked it?

Yes they did. There was a lot of audience reaction during the movie and quite a bit of discussion overheard after the showing.

Not in my theater.

Nor did others that went to other theaters to see it.

I thought it was the most amazing movie I have seen for a while, should win awards and the funniest characters played by the best Aussies really made this an entertaining and interesting movie.

Same. In a movie with many odd moments, the rapid change in tone and sudden tragedy really got me.

I unfortunately had that part spoiled for me but my friend didn't know and she was devastated.

The part that got me was when they told Teddy's mum and they showed Kate and you could just hear her yelling Teddy's name...



I just saw it (London) and loved it. It's been a LONG time since I've seen a film where the audience struggle to contain their laughter (especially during the scenes between Davis and Winslet).

Charting seventh on its UK bow, Entertainment’s The Dressmaker took $357,000 (£235,668) from its 200 sites and will hope to improve over mid-week given its older-skewing audience.

I saw it today (Monday), and it was quite busy - majority of audience were older, so I expect this to be more popular during the week than at weekends. Also, it was released same week as Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2; While, Spectre, Lady I the Van and Brooklyn are holding up well. Hopefully W-O-M helps The Dressmaker.

Cherry Darling: I was going to be a stand-up comedian.

Me too. It really hit me hard. It was just so unexpected. I didn't even realise what happened at first.

A computer beat me at chess once, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

That scene was such a gut-wrenching moment as I wasn't expecting it either. I thought if I was in that situation I really would be thinking that I was cursed too! And then thinking how his family would react made me even more dumbstruck as I was sure they'd blame her for his death and scream, "Bloody murder!" just like the whole townsfolk blamed her for Stewart Pettyman's death.

In an age where most movies (at least in the USA where I live) are based on comic book characters it's hard to get emotional about the death of Superman or some such foolishness.

To feel a range of emotions while watching a movie is a part of what real movies are about; not just mindless entertainment.
