You what I noticed about the hating trollers in here...

They all watched the entire thing.

I find that kind of funny, because when I hate movies bad enough to come and rip it apart I generally only watched half of it because it was unwatchable. I'll admit , I still honestly don't know yet if I liked The Siganl or not, but I will tell y'all this...

I was glued since from when I saw they were hacked to the it ended, I even stared at the credits in stunned silence debating whether or not I liked it, I'm still dong that. But.... I find it silly to admit you watched the entire movie then come here and say the ENTIRE was crap because it was soooo pretentious. Gimme a break.

It's not the movie being pretentious...

I think people who love sci-fy, should watch this and draw there own conclusions.

But to your point, just because you routinely only watch half a movie doesn't mean others do the same. Most people that watch half a movie want to see how it ends, even if the movie is subpar.

I think a lot of us were expecting something else, something more. It's been a long time since I watched the movie now, and thinking back on the key points of it (aliens who at first appear to be humans, a spaceship that looks like earth, etc.) it looks like it has the ingredients to be a decent sci-fi movie, perhaps even a bit philosophical.

I watched the entire movie, expecting it to at some point turn into this great indie-sci-fi that I had envisioned, but instead it turned out to be something completely different and very disappointing in my opinion.

if you bail on a movie midway, then you got no business to rip nothing apart.
Just admit you are a quitter and move on.
