You can't wear a house arrest anklet in the pool. Ugh.

Just so dumb.

They're coming to get you, Barbara!

Wrong. A quick google search will tell you it depends on the anklet. There are many common models that can still operate while under water in pools and jacuzzi. People also have to shower with them on.

You can shower with one, but not fully immerse it in water for any extended amount of time. Most of the ankle bracelets are water resistant vs water proof, but that isn't the real problem - they operate on radio waves, and being submerged can compromise their ability to communicate. If the radio signal is interrupted, it's considered tampering, and if it shorts out, you can be arrested, plus be liable for the cost of replacement. No police department that I know of gives you carte blanche to swim, and that's even if you're allowed that far out into your yard. Source: did a mental health internship in a jail and have seen the paperwork, as well as spoken with inmates who were incarcerated for allegedly tampering with their bracelets with water.

Sometimes dreams are dumb like that.

The privation officer asked if he liked to swim

reply

Ummm ummm.... Let me state the obvious. If you can shower or take a bath then you can go in a pool. Ever heard of Google?

I know this is an old thread but seriously, did you do any research on the subject? I'm on house arrest right now and I can absolutely go in the pool with my bracelet. There are lots of different manufacturers of offender monitoring devices and a large portion of them are water proof up to depths far beyond that of any pool.
