I liked it (Spoilers)

The film suffers from bad acting and casting, but aside from that, Id give it a watch.I have to admit the female slasher is a cool idea and they do it well. Bummer ending, but since the final girl is the worst actress, you don't mind so much watching her get beaten to death.

The only thing I liked about it was the killer's costume. Beyond that, blah.

I liked it too. Cool looking killer, and some fun kills <3

Wow. You people seem easy to please. Yes, the killer was cool and genuinely creepy. I truly wish she had been used for a better movie such a dystopian science fiction movie. Or maybe she should be an antagonist in an upcoming Resident Evil movie and goes toe to toe against Alice. But in this movie it was a total waste. Why use such a uniquely cool looking villain in a generic horror movie? Not only that, there is virtually no back story on her. Such a waste.

Aside from the coo villain, the movie is garbage. It's the same generic stupid young people getting killed by the numbers slasher movie. It's got all the usual slasher characters: the jock; the effeminate nerd; the hero who puts his life in danger to save the other slasher stock character, the final girl; the slut; and the weird chick. I'm just surprised they didn't have the a hole character who acts like a jerk to everyone with little or no provocation and selfishly lets others die to save his own life. I'm also surprised there wasn't a cop to get killed. So many movies have the cop or security guard show up only to be immediately killed from behind.

The dialogue, script, acting were all garbage. I feel as if I could have written a better script while on a 2 day drinking binge and gotten actors from the local bar and grille and still make a movie with better script and acting than Blood Widow.

Lastly, the sound quality of the movie was horrible. It was all over the place. Within one minute the sound would be too soft, too loud, too low, and virtually non-existent. Whoever did the sound job should be fired and immediately. He should be fired along with the guy in charge of the lighting and the cinematographer. The movie was waaaaaay too dark, even in scenes that occurred during the daytime. I started watching this movie during the daytime and I had a difficult time even seeing the daylight scenes. So I stopped it partway through and waited until dark to continue. Then I watched the movie with all the lights off. I still couldn't make out what was going on in many of the scenes. I kept saying, "Who is that? What's going on? What am I looking at? I can't see a damn thing."

The sound guy, the guy in charge of lighting, and the cinematographer should all be banned from filmmaking. That's how bad it was.

I liked it too, but it had terrible acting. That was some of the worst acting I've ever saw. I disagree with OP, I don't think the lead actress was the worst. I thought she was actually one of the better ones. Even though they were all bad, I thought 4 of the main characters performed more awful than the lead. Other than the acting, I thought the kill scenes were rather good and sometimes unique. Like when a certain person got their arms chopped off trying to escape. LMAO That was pretty funny and unexpected. The special effects were actually pretty good as well. I only had a problem with one scene. Also the lighting was bad, it was too dark. They needed more lighting for a few scenes that were filmed in the light. It's a decent horror movie for a low budget film, but the acting almost completely destroys this movie.

I agree 100%: the lighting in this movie was horrible. It actually negated anything good about it to me.

I liked the Blood Widow character. I could even tolerate the acting and stock characters. I just wish I could see what was going on.

I hope someone rescues this character with a bigger budget and better script like they did with the Alexis character in Death Factory.

I must say I'd rather like this movie especially after the fact that I watched "Dead Sea (2014)" right before this, which was way worse than this...

Well my hope is that this could "bloom" into a franchise... female slasher <3

All aside I got a good idea for my halloween costume... :D

I re-watched this again, and still enjoyed it. It suffers from its micro budget and and a few plot holes I noticed. Like, how could that couple be living next door to the blood widow for all those years and not get killed. The "deserted" house (that looked like it was in great condition) wasn't even that far away. Plus I noticed that the actor who played the original owner of the new house was the same guy in the old boarding house photo. Guess they couldn't afford another actor.

I guess the low budget shows the films limitations, but still a cool killer concept. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel, lord knows we need a good slasher franchise.

I agree with this. People are way to harsh when rating movies like this and I guess go into it thinking that a low budget slasher film is going to redefine the horror genre.

Agree on the ending, that was a brutal fight and bummed me out too, but it was certainly well done.

Something like this is 5.5/10 or 6/10 decent flick for people that like this stuff. Giving it 1 and 2 stars is not cool.

reply

5 or 6 stars? Really? 2 is too many. One of the worst pieces of junk I've seen in a long time---& that's saying a lot.
