Awful. Truly Dreadful.

I'm usually a big Francophile and sucker for anything filmed in France, but this was just simply awful.

I couldn't take the whining and self-pity and blame from characters of these actors' ages. Anyone in real life who hasn't resolved that stuff by 32 and become their own person has thrown away their life and empowered an outsider to keep them unhappy (I know, I got over my childhood traumas, even though I was pretty much completely shut down and didn't start until I was 21).

Pick yourself up and start living instead of wallowing.

This was pathetic.

You are so awesome. What an amazing person you are.

Unless you watched your mother's brains cover her bedroom wall, I'm pretty sure you don't know what you're talking about. You're generalizing people and their issues. The characters found a way to pick themselves up, even if they're 60-ish. It's never too late, even if you see otherwise.

I liked it at first because I thought it was going to be a comedy. But then it got really heavy. I thought maggie Smith's character was selfish to have carried on with an affair that caused her husband and daughter so much unhappines, likewise Kline's father. But I agree that it was taking it too far having this sordid affair totally blighting Kevin Kline and Kristen scott Thomas's whole lives.

Can't there be one message board where there isn't some twat ranting about nothing in particular.
