Oldest woman to have ever lived sold her house as a "Viager"

This was touched on briefly in the film, but I find it deliciously ironic how the oldest woman who ever lived (which can be verified) sold her house as a "viager".

Jeanne Calment was 90 years old when she sold it to a lawyer in 1965. Turns out she didn't die until 1997, when she was 122 years old! The lawyer who bought it ended up dying two years before she did, and after having to pay her the sum of 2,500 francs per month, he ended up paying more than twice what the house was worth!

Something about that story just makes me want to smile!!!

Yes, it is very amusing (not for the lawyer of course). Before i went to see this film, I imagined (based on the trailer) that it was going to be a comedy, revolving around Kline trying to get her out perhaps. I think that would have made quite a good film.

A much better film would have been a dark comedy with him trying to kill her because she just wouldn't die.

That would have been fun.
