I thought Kline sold the place because he did have 3000 Euros. Then Maggie Smith tells him he will be able to sell it as a viagger, when he tells her that he is staying.
So did he sell it to that hotel man?
i don't know, but I would have thought, if he is going to marry or at any rate live with maggie smith's daughter, he would want to leave the place to her, since she is quite likely to outlive him (women have a tendency to outlve men).
