Have They Cancelled The Two-Part Allegiant Movie Yet?
Really, it's a waste of money.
I know. Barely going to break even on this one. They're just going to lose money on the last two. But someone's ego is going to make this go forward.

It's ridiculous but I really believe that they will go through with this Part 1 and 2 business. I do believe the budgets will be lower than Insurgent's though, especially if the film doesn't hit 300 million worldwide. 300 mil depends on how much China embraces the film.
shareIf they do follow the Allegiant storyline, they won't need a big budget. Since not much happens in the first half of the book, they could do Part 1 with an even lower budget than Divergent. Just look at the Maze Runner, they were able to do that movie with 30mil.

Yes, they're scrapping the two Allegiant movies due to taking a hit on the first two instalments but replacing them with just one called Emergent Detergent.
shareI'm sure you find it hard to believe, but some of us enjoyed both Divergent and Insurgent. I realize it takes a certain level of intelligence, perhaps comparable to what it took to read the books.
I don't like splitting books into two films, but I'm eagerly anticipating Allegiant, regardless.
I intend to live forever.

shareI agree. I really liked Divergent. I bought the books and finished Divergent a couple weeks ago. Reading Insurgent now. Haven't seen the movie yet, but plan to this weekend.
shareI hope it gets cancelled. there's really no need to split it in two. just look at what they cut out of Insurgent. the whole Amity bit was butchered down to a what, 10 minute segment if that? nothing of great importance was really left out, so why not do the same to Allegiant? I mean, if they can leave out something I find important between Christina and Tris, they can leave out anything. remember, they left that moment out, yet they had to allude to Tris and Four having sex. yeah. that's FAR more important than a friendship. and if they can add something as stupid as the box, they can do whatever the hell they want to make it a single movie.
sorry. I was just severely disappointed in Insurgent. I've never seen a book butchered so badly to make what they hope will be a box office smash. this was more like a box office facepalm. sure Queen of the Damned was a mess, but that's another level of messy. this was just so bad. I've already decided I'm going to be pissed if anything is changed in Tori's life and if the very ending is changed. and I do see Tori's situation going in a different direction in the movie.
I wasn't disappointed but I did think that they made some business decisions that compromised the integrity of the story. Without the box, a 3D movie would have been unnecessary.
Most sequels suck and I think this one could have been a lot worse. I agree they could have delved more deeply into the relationships Tris had with her friends and with Four.
Intimacy was Tris' penultimate fear and they (Tris & Four) had to break through a lot of trust issues to get to the point where they could have sex for the first time but the movie kind of skipped all of that.
I also don't think Christina is coming back because they just showed her looking for Will when Tris and Four get to Candor, shunning Tris after the Candor trial and then being saved by Tris when she was in the suicide SIM and that was it.
She actually was in the group when they saved Tris at the end too. But yea I agree glossing over their conflict is something I knew was coming. They glossed over a lot of the relationships in divergent so I expected the same in this movie
share3D?! this was made in/for 3D?! but they didn't have to make it 3D compatible. they could have just left it alone and done things more literally by the book.
ooo...good point about Christina. makes me cry when I think about what could be coming with the next movie.
I saw the movie today and, with the deviations from the book, they pretty much wrapped up the story. I mean all the bad people are executed and everyone else begins to integrate and run toward the "outside." what else is there to say?
