script making fun of the books?

There were moments where it seemed like the script was mocking the book. For instance, when Kate Winslet figures out Shailene Woodley was 100 percent divergent, she had a line that went something like, "of course it had to be you. That defies probability". There were few more occasions when they were pointing out the plotholes and was laughing at themselves (the original source material, in this case)
