Why no disguises?

Matt Damon in the Bourne movies did not wear disguises, and with the Worricker episodes continuing that practice, we are invited to think that people trying to disappear will still not wear disguises. Bobby Durst, the New York realty heir, passed as a woman in disguise in Mobile AL for a very long time, and gives the lie to such notions. Why such silly flights from reality?
