It's less Leverage than a reboot (in a good way) of "Hustle."
The flashbacks at the end letting the audience in on the various set-ups and misdirections that had been going on without being revealed until the end were pure "Hustle." Same format.
They had me at....Tony Jordan. Then they cinched it with Gina McKee as the wonderfully mysterious, ironic and smart-alecky "M" character. Fab.
It's "Hustle" from the other side. Con-artists essentially, who have access to all things the good guys have at their disposal and are pseudo cops. But, well, "it's a grey area." LOL!
Warren Brown is great as the clever and charismatic leader of the crew. And there is just the right touch of light sexual tension between Shelley Conn's character and Quinn. It's there but it's subtle and doesn't get in the way. So it's a bit sexy.
That long scene with Keith Allen's Nicholas in his office between Quinn and Nick was an instant classic. "Am I annoying????"
