Underrated.

Don't tell me I am the only one with this opinion? This should ATLEAST be rated over 7.

I liked it. I don't understand the hate. The acting by some characters were bad, but l liked it.

Loved it, becoming a fan of George Basha. Watched "The Combination" yesterday and "Convict" today. Not sure why it's got a low rating. The only bad actor in it was the prisoner who accused him of selling out n was hypocritical. The rest of the movie was pretty raw and drew me in. More Australian movies with Basha in it please. Ignore the imdb rating and give it a go, if ya like Aussie movies you'll probably dig this one.

ganjafor420 I guess once again it is all how people rate movies. For some I guess this is an average movie that did nothing new but was something you could watch and recommend to others and that only warrants a 5 for some people. For me this movie is a 7 or higher in my book and yes I say to the people that rate it a 5 well there wasn't much new in this sort of movie but the thing is do you knock of marks for that? I don't think you do. This was more than watchable. The acting was solid. There were definitely intense moments which you expected to see with this sort of movie and they were well done. The ending was dramatic, funny and even tear jerking. This movie hit on all sorts of emotional levels. It also showed problems with the prison system and justice system that actually do happen in the real world and this movie reminds us things need to be changed. It made me think. Also interestingly in the end the main character takes money that is stolen for his own gain so he actually turns into a real criminal guilty of something. That was an interesting piece of the story.Seriously the people that rated this a 5 or lower I would love to hear your reasons why.

Totally agree that this is underrated! Admittedly, I generally only watch films that I think I'm likely to enjoy, so my ratings are usually pretty generous!
A few people have criticised the original premise of the film, and the fact that Ray was convicted of manslaughter when it was quite clear that he was innocent of the crime (his fiancée was also a witness). But I'm sure the idea here is that Tim's father, being incredibly rich and influential, would have bought off the lawyers and judge as well.
Some good moments, and great to see some revenge towards the end. Pity we didn't also get to see the Warden and those two horrible prison guards having to strip alongside Tim's father.
