Manglehorn
I hope it ll be a good one.
sharewhat is this about??
shareI believe it's set in the 1970's... about an old locksmith who once gave up the love of his life to commit a crime, and now lives in regret and tries to get his life in order. Something like that.
If that's the case, it sounds like it could be very promising.
shareperfect plot for al to play
shareWhat was the crime. I just watched this, but it was so boring and hard to watch I could well have missed that?
shareBbethany7 What is Manglehorn about? I assume you are on IMDB. There are about 45 reviews available on the title page.
Open REVIEWS and browse through to read various assessments of Manglehorn. You've been on IMBD for 11 years and
still don't know how to find movie reviews? Jesus.
Touchy!?!
shareIt's been a long time since Al has been amazing. He was Oscar-caliber (what it should mean) in Insomnia. I didn't see The Merchant Of Venice. He's done some damn good work but I wanna see Al Pacino, Al Pacino it up. This looks like something.
I also want to see him get an Oscar nomination.
He won 2 Emmys for Angels in America and You Don't Know Jack. He gave an Oscar winning performance in The Merchant of Venice, he was also very good in Phil Spectre. It isn't Pacino's fault you haven't seen his best films.
shareBbethany7 Save your money. The movie is unspeakably poor. The producer/director tried to get it into film festivals everywhere, but it died like a wet fart. If I were A P I'd stand outside a movie theatre where it's showing and beg those entering to forget about it, You know Al's excellent character in Donnie Brasco, Lefty; His advice? Fuhgeddaboutit!!
shareManglehorn is nowhere near the worst Al Pacino movie - he's been in Bobby Deerfield, Author Author, Gigli, Jack and Jill, 88 Minutes for Godsakes
I'm not the biggest fan of the movie but I do think the performance makes it worth seeing - particularly if you are a big Pacino fan. He's great-ish in this, at least in some of it.....it's a unique performance in his filmography too.
It's a so-so film, a 6.5 or so but the character fascinates. The film didn't die in festivals either I mean it played several - was reviewed at them was purchased for distribution at them?
really really looking forward to see this one, the role suits Pacino perfectly
shareBbethany7 It does not suit him. It's the worst film of Al's career. It is seriously rotten. The box office figures bear this out.
It cost 4 mil to make. but hasn't yet taken in $200,000 in ticket sales.
well it was released in limited cinema, wasn't even released in my country, wouldn't be surprised at that box office.
shareI don't know how to troll this board
shareI thought his name was Alpa Chino, not Al Pacino!
shareIt's actually Dunk A'Chino, thank you very much!
