stop blaming the victim

I have noticed many of the comments on these videos are suggesting some of these women have somehow "brought these stalking incidents on themselves," or somehow deserve this. (and yes, the victims of every episode so far that I've seen has been a woman stalked by a man, although I know that is not always the case in life - I know of at least two stalking cases woman to man-- I wonder if the victim would be blamed, then, too.) I thought we had gotten past in society blaming the victim. This could happen to any one of us. These women seem like your average person caught up in a bad situation, mostly because of their own kindness or sympathy or because of love. And these stalking cases are rare. If we start being afraid of everyone, to the point where we can't even go upstairs to have a cup of coffee with someone who seems like a friendly oddball, or help a student in need, then it's us who lose and no one will be kind to anyone who doesn't fit society's norms. And what's really to blame is that no matter how hard these women try to protect themselves, no one does anything till it is almost too late.

But some of them deserved to be blamed, especially that one girl who went to Miami on vacation with her boyfriend and didn't want to press charges because she didn't want to ruin her vacation. WTF? SMH!

Some of these women were pissing me off.

I have some sympathy for the victims who have no idea who is stalking them. But even then don't act stupid. Don't go into the sketchy person's Apartment alone if they say they want to kill you. Don't go out to the Desert with a crazy person. Don't refuse an escort to the parking lot. It's common sense some of these people are lacking.

Let's not forget about Karen. She was just too dumb. She drove me crazy. That was an hilarious episode though. lol

I agree drama27-1 It's one thing going up to a strangers house for coffee but going back up to his house after he threw a brick/rock through your child's bedroom window is just insane. Not saying she deserved what happened to her, of course not but she played it all wrong and people should be able to comment on that, it doesn't mean they're blaming the victim. They are just saying it could have been avoided. No common sense. She wouldn't have been the only one in danger her kids would also which should be taken into account.
It was just lucky that the child wasn't in when it happened.

I get your point and don't disagree with it. But some of the victims on this shot are not very bright. And sometimes their stories don't make sense. I wonder if some are fakers.

I suspect some of the stories are over-dramatized by bad writers who don't care about plausibility.
