Party and strip club scenes are filler for Entourage and Ballers

So predictable and lame.

"Look guys, I got a huge contract!"

*Cue party/strip club/club scene, everyone has a great time.

"Damn guys, I lost everything, I'm broke."

*Cue party/strip club/club scene, everyone has a great time.

Usually, I sit at home alone, depressed, worrying if the world will come to an end for days/weeks until something good or relatively good happens.

Such a stupid show.

It's what lots of these guys do when they get money. The shows are being realistic.

reply

Even when they lose everything or have a really bad day?

No, that's not what it's really like. Cut the crap.

reply

If they have a really bad day they might go to a strip club to feel better and have a good time. I would think Mark Wahlberg would have a better grasp on what these guys do than you. He has actually lived the life. Young actors/pro athletes/super wealthy people are some of the bread and butter clients for high end strip joints. As far as going when they lose everything they did not change their lifestyle very much when they lost everything. Vince was living in the Mondrian on his black card when he had nothing so he clearly did not have much of a grasp on reality. He bet 100k with Dennis Hopper when he had nothing. He did not change his lifestyle when he had no money. If he was not going to stop partying why would he stop going to strip clubs? Many of these guys don't have a grasp on how to sensibly spend money so Vince's actions when he was broke should not be surprising.

I'm not talking about temporarily going broke. I'm talking about legit falling flat on your butt, career ending. Unless you have a serious problem, you're not going to be doing anything like this.

I highly doubt most people go to strip clubs to cheer up. Even Mark Wahlberg.

reply

Actually, I would think certain types of people, namely the types profiled in the show, might well go to strip clubs to cheer up. I have certainly seen people in strip clubs who appeared quite depressed.

reply

It's true, but I will give Ballers credit for downplaying the strip club and party scenes a lot more in season 2. Most of them seemed to serve a bigger purpose like the strip club scene in the last episode was actually used to showcase Spencer and Joe at their lowest point.
