The Grandmaster returns again, since they want to use The Grandmaster name so much. They cannot use Bruce Lee because Bruce Lee learnt from him for only a short while and using Bruce Lee's name to sell will make them look even cheaper.
shareStart a fresh new trilogy but still continuing in some way however small from the original 3. This should focus from 1960 to 1972, in Ip Mans retirement years, and passing the buck to his top students. A loose adaptation would be good enough as long the story is solid with excellent fight scenes. Also forget the Bruce Enterprise, they are just going to get picky, choose another more loyal ip man student where there is more freedom.
I doubt they have the confidence without Bruce Lee. Even in part 3, they use him during beginning and end, yet they use a box office fraud in China.
shareHonestly, if there is a 4th, Bruce is not needed. There are a good sample of Ip Man's students who were arguably more loyal leaving much more freedom. The training of those early students are quite an obscure part of Wing Chun history which audiences would like to see. More importantly, it would reveal to the world how Ip Man wished his skills to be passed on.
