Anyone knows if Yip Mans wife really died from cancer, or was this just added to the film to add more "drama"?

I really need to know this, could not find anything about his wife on Wikipedia, theres hardly any information about Yip Man himself.

I don't know where but I heard she did die from cancer.

She did, its clearly written at the end with the year she died. (I think 1960?)
