shareIt's actually become rare and refreshing for me to encounter someone else who fairly and accurately judges films On IMDB these days. Seems like so many people are giving films they enjoyed 10 stars and films they didn't care for 1 star while never using 2-9 stars Some of them are probably attempting to inflate or drag down the rating as much as possible so every score fits their personal preference instead of giving it a genuine and rightful rating. Metascore is 75, which is quite high and metascore is a much more trustworthy rating than the ordinary one. So the film should be good.
shareI'm assuming the people that rated the film really low was expecting it to be more of a a comedy-horror, instead of a story dealing with grief, pain, and lost with a sprinkle of cynical dark humor. I really enjoyed the film and didn't have any expectations going into it and founded myself thoroughly enjoying the film. It's hard to classify it in a specific genre.
If you're looking for something that's more focused on the comedy checkout Life After Beth and if you're looking for more of a romance checkout Burying the Ex. Nina Forever is more dramatic compared to those two films.
i disagree. i watched it expecting nothing and got less. it was interesting at first and then went annoying pretty quickly. repetition gallore. this could easily have ben cut down to 30 minutes without losing anything.

what do you mean by "good reviews"? i just checked the linked reviews on IMDB and it is all blogs. not a single creditable source. top critics on RT: 3 say fresh 1 say rotten.

you can try to spin it all you want, but apart from a high amount of shills, which is sadly common nowadays for this kind of films, a rather small percentage of professionell reviewers mentioned this film positively.
Because it's really boring. It needed to be a short movie, not a featured film.

you were trying to make the impression as if it gotten a hughe amount of positive reviews from relevant sources, which isn't the case. out of 10 professional revoews, 6 were favorable, thats (still) insignifant. even home "alone 4" had a couple of good reviews.
I thought the dead girlfriend was semi-entertaining, but otherwise it was just a dull, dreary softcore porno.
