What's with the looks Sofi and Karen give each other when they meet?

At first I thought it was just some jealousy taking place since you can tell Karen liked him (through their work) and Sofie could sense it. Then I'm thinking it might mean something else? It was surely a scene done on purpose. It was a look of "knowing" but what?

I think that Karen was just surprised to be introduced to Ian's wife. Sofi should have taken a moment to reach out to her, just to be sociable, but instead she just glanced at Karen and looked away, with a very closed expression on her face. She acted like a child who didn't want to share a toy. Ian was that toy. I don't think the look was supposed to portray anything more than how childish Sofi actually is.
