Ending... Hitler wasn't reincarnated?

At the end of the movie when they scan all of the famous/infamous people from history and Hitler pops up... What would be the consequences of finding out that Hitler had been reincarnated and was living another life? What if this time around he was actually a nice guy? Would this lead to people being tried for crimes in a former life?

Yeah, I caught that. Maybe it's implying that because of his evil acts he didn't reincarnate? Maybe he ceased to exist or has been reincarnating in the form of a cockroach for the past 70 years? Or, if they're mixing belief systems, maybe he's now in Hell.

A couple others didn't reincarnate either. I'll have to rewatch that scene.

I think Stalin, Maggie Thatcher and John Lennon were among those who weren't reincarnated. I guess some consider those as morally corrupt (Stalin for obvious reasons, thatcher for her destruction of the lives of many miners and John Lennon was supposed to be a wife beater). However, it might just mean that those particular people hadn't yet been retina scanned.

It also brings a lot of questions about how you would go about your death. Would you leave all your money to your significant other or your children on your death or would you provision for your reincarnation as well especially knowing that you might end up like the Samina (sp?) girl.

The other unrelated point about this movie is that your reincarnation wouldn't be your genetic equal. Much of our preferences and tastes come from our genes, so the little girl wouldn't necessarily like the same colours, flowers or foods; making that test a little unreliable. Only those things that absolutely related to their past lives (like their homes, pets or significant others) would matter in such a test.

And Hitler didn't have a pair of eyes matched up with him either. There were several others. It could be that not everyone has been retina scanned, as you point out.

But for those who believe in reincarnation, the ultimate goal is not to be reincarnated. Those people escape the cycle of maya or whatever. Not sure what happens to them, maybe they become one with the universe?

So you could argue that not being reincarnated is a compliment to the people who were not shown to have a set of eyes matched up to them. Although considering Hitler was in that group, it was probably not meant that way lol.

They get to move on to the next plane of existence? They've done their final cycle (n + 1) on this plane?

Be sure to proof your posts to see if you any words out

Our universe is a training ground for psychopaths and once you prove you are one, you level up to the next universe.

Thats actually true in Eastern philosophies , Cycle of birth n rebirth is considered a pain in a** due to all the suffering and so good souls are given free pass to Nirvana /Moksha where they can enjoy disneyland for rest of their soul-life (eternity i guess!). So logically someone like Hitler is more likely to be reincarnated than good souls like Elvis ....

And btw , human reincarnation is suppose to be like a last orbit after all hops through cockroaches n pigs ; so since Hitler was already human, he should be back as Hitler and as per movie theory since their personality matches closely with previous life...so yo WW-III is round the corner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

So, somebody is that stupid to put Lennon in the same bag with Stalin....I've read it all.

What a ridiculous post: first Lennon in the same pack with Stalin. Then, those questions that you are asking are pretty crappy (specially the one about the savings) because reincarnation idea is not like you are going to remember your past life in detail, never was.

This is why revenge isn't justice. Chasing down a soul to punish it for crimes it may very well already be paying for in its new life? What does that do for anybody? In Buddhism at least, reincarnating as a human is considered an "upgrade" from other forms of life. It means you're closer to escaping samsara (the cycle of rebirth). Since it takes good deeds elevate one's status, people like Hitler would likely get demoted to a life form that humans perceive to be "lesser" like an insect or a lizard.

As for people whose eyes weren't matched up, not only is it plausible the other person wasn't scanned, but maybe the means of disposing of the body also matters? What if the body has to be completely destroyed? Salomina having Sofi's soul so *soon* may have been made possible by the body being destroyed (or even ashes being scattered).

Also, I think it's evident in subtext that the reason Salomina "failed" the test is that the current life the soul is living receives the preferences/impressions of ALL past life souls (although maybe the last one leaves the strongest impression, temporarily).
