Marion Cotillard looks like she's struggling
Oh well, that is how uninspired casting will get ya

shareYou look like you're breastfeeding way, way to late. Tell your mom it's just wrong.
Retard.
Cotillard, a really humble actor, usually talks about her struggles but rarely IS struggling. It's because she spends a great deal of time and effort on preparation, and in the pre-production process.
I don't know of any other actor, certainly of her generation, who is more respected by other actors, directors and writers than Cotillard. She has many years of great work ahead of her, due to her professional work ethic and cooperative personality. In addition, she's multilingual and lives in France, where a woman's acting career doesn't screech to a stop when she gets to be 40, as in the US.
Did you actually see all of MACBETH or are you just ragging on Cotillard? I didn't get the idea that you really were in a position to discuss whether MACBETH's casting in "uninspired." What does that mean, exactly?
Really? I think Cotillard in the role is very inspired casting, unless you've seen the film already?

I'm, of course, didn't saw the film yet, but I think that it's an essence of Lady Macbeth to be highly volatile, shifty and mutable. One moment she may be sweet and seductive, and another wicked and waspish. But yeah, I have to wait and watch a performance.
Nolan, I love you forever!share
cunning and vicious, but other times (sometimes in the next scene) she'd be all sad and mournful.

inconsistent .... sometimes she was Lady Macbeth as cunning and vicious, but other times .... sad and mournful.

Good for you, buddy.
I'm sorry but lol at ya. Marion forms an astoundingly and deeply complex character in this Macbeth rather than the strictly conniving mad queen we've seen her portrayed in all previous adaptations. And she's utterly convincing in conveying each emotion. She actually came on top for me as far as acting goes here, eclipsing the great Fassbender in some key scenes. Kudos to her. What a talent!!
shareI felt like the Director didn't seem to care much how any of the actors acted so long as they looked beautiful. Some of the scenes with Cotillard I didn't know whether to laugh or cry as her face was just there and she just looked incredibly beautiful and there were (for example) beautiful tears and I felt... absolutely nothing. I didn't find her good in the film. She just whispered her lines.. not her fault to some degree as so did everyone. But I very seldom felt anything Lady Macbeth felt or anything from Lady Macbeth...
