setting up the food truck

did i miss something or the chef bought the food truck, cleaned it from top to bottom, painted, went to the store to buy all of the equipments, installed everything, made a piece of meat (that most likely needs 10 hours of cooking/smoking), and got all of the permits and health inspection in just one day???

Would you prefer the movie be nothing but 2 weeks of fixing the truck up, or move on to more important elements?

reply

I would've guessed in certain scenes and the sequences he'd done things beforehand that it wasn't shown, but along with cleaning the truck assumed he'd also get permits, etc. One part I really would've liked to see was him counting all his receipts and total profit, splitting, etc.

Yeah - the same as how they never show any of them going to the toilet - we know they must do it but who wants to watch those things in a film? I would like to see a bit more about how financially successful they had been though - like you said, splitting the profits. I was expecting him to say no to the restaurant at the end and keep control over his own project but it was nice to see a happy ending

I had the same thought, but it's a little too demanding that you get every single detail correct about a movie.

Also, didn't they say the guys helped him clean that also helped move the fridge or whatever it was in there

I found it hard to believe that the truck was a fixer upper let alone drive it across the country...

It's a movie. As someone who has been in the restaurant business for quite some time, this was not at all realistic. There is no way he could have got permits for most of those states. In many states, it would cost a fortune, take several months, and inspections.
