Amen; and she was the only(except for perhaps, Mike's partner/protege at the law firm; called him out for "being hopped up on anger")character to remain steadfast in not being steamrolled by either of the two leads.
I really noticed her also. She was both firm and warm and I really belived her. Great job.

I did wonder if she was going to speak to Eloise behind closed doors, but the child psychologist's report probably answered some of the questions she may have had. It was also an opportunity to show another successful black woman. I believe she came across as a fair person whose main concern was Eloise's well-being.
Yes, I also enjoyed the interaction between her and Grandma. This was a light touch to the film and a funny moment in the intense court scene. Director, Niki Caro presented a very human story. I also wondered if the story would be viewed differently if Eloise was Hispanic or Asian?
I truly enjoyed this film.
