Was You Are Next the first horror movie your parents let you watch? Whats with kiddies thinking that movie was fenre defying. The pig mask is such a trope in horror it was even used in the first season of american horror story. Watch some old horror movies before you start calling others for ripping off you are next.

If you read the interview with the director, he said that YOU'RE NEXT came out while he was still in the middle of shooting THE BLOOD LANDS, so one has nothing to do with the other. And YOU'RE NEXT actually wasn't released until 2 years after it was made. People also use masks in THE PURGE---I actually thought YOU'RE NEXT was just cashing in on the former since the trailers for both films showed people with masks (since they both came out around the same exact time)---they're both two entirely different movies,though (I've seen both.) And there have been masks used in horror films since horror films were first created---nothing new about that there. That being said, I liked THE BLOOD LANDS---it was like a throwback to old-school horror,with some genuinely creepy and suspenseful moment.
