The ending consists of the police finding the daughter dead...right there under their noses only due to a foolish back and forth between biological dad and cop dad. This reminds me strongly of another movie...anyone have ideas?

You talking about Gone Baby Gone, although it has no bio dad cop dad drama? Or is it another?

I realized I was talking about Prisoners...2013 movie starring Hugh Jackman and Gyllenhaal. Extremely well made and very similar in tone to Ugly

Prisoners was an excellent film. Very gripping!

it's similar to Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and The Chaser, both korean movies. I mean, i liked it but it's fairly obvious where they've ripped off from.
