Well this sucked
Trailer got me pumped to see this but it was pretty awful. Don't waste your time folks.

shareYeah, it looks pretty bad to me. I like horror flicks, but this one just didn't look "horror" enough. However, there's a damn biker rally in my city this weekend and I wanted to find something to pass the time to avoid the tourist mess.
Guess I'll skip this one and stick with Bad Grandpa and Free Birds.
Yep. absolutely awful and the cuts in the interviews at the start drove me mad, there were so many of them!
The People's Front of Judea. Splitters.
Bad Grandpa was fncking hilarious.
shareI agree, this movie is an absolute joke, and not in an ironic or funny way either.
shareYep. Another found footage film that is a complete streaming pile of turd. The only good thing about it was that It made me realize i will not be stupid enough to ever watch one again.
Good Lord. I am actually mildly angry after watching it. Don't get me wrong: I love me some ambiguity. I do not need everything explained and wrapped up neatly, but JEEZ, don't just show me a bunch of random ghost/alien/werewolf crap and then tie them all together with newspaper clippings about "portals" over the end credits which I almost didn't watch. What a turkey.

I thought it was very smart and well-done. Everything doesn't need to be explained - that's the point of something being unexplainable.
This movie is just about a "hotspot" of paranormal activity. The military/government obviously knows what's going on, to some degree. And anyway, the paranormal encompasses both extraterrestrial and inter-dimensional entities. Why can't both exist?
Everything doesn't need to be explained - that's the point of something being unexplainable.But...they did explain it... Only in an incredibly lazy, sloppy and unsatisfying way.
Explained what?
shareWhy there were ghosts, werewolves, aliens, etc. Read the two posts above mine (in nest view) and it will be apparent.---It wants no straps. - Karlhttp://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000024/nest/158601447
shareYeah, the native american skinwalker-thing just seem like a forced excuse to make a big mashup of too many elements. So badly done too. and mimicing this scary scenes from grave encounters, only making it less scary was really topping its dullness.
And it was so staged. Like the two lights going down the road looking like a car, only to seperate and flying in different directions. And the big spider crawling by just as the camera is put down for a second.. and there is more, but I don't remember. I don't want to remember.
The only scary part of this movie is the length of it. One hour and twenty minutes is way too long for this borefest. Next found footage-film please, I have a high belief in this genre....
Viewers definitely need to read the book "Hunt for the Skinwalker" before viewing for a better perspective.
shareProblem with this film to me was definitely not what was left unexplained, nor the collection of newspaper clippings in the end actually "explaining" it.
Problem was, Skinwalker Ranch was ABYSMAL in every, single aspect of moviemaking. That cannot be that much of a question of opinion as it is a question of clinical and technical facts if you ever bothered to try looking at any movie that way.
The directing was horrid, maniphesting in the actors whom all were mainly terrible. Camerawork was bad, editing was sloppy, the script lead nowhere from the beginning... And the inclusion of Michael Horse early on completely dragged my mind away from the "suspension of disbelief" that many a good found footage film gets away with because of intensity and mostly unknown actors.
Totally honest, this is one of the worst movies that I have ever seen in my entire life. And I've seen my share for sure.
