The film just did not have a real point and nothing at all was resolved. We begin and end knowing almost zero. Nothing. Goose egg. Aliens? Probably, based upon the footage. What the hell is up with the giant dog, though? Why did the kid keep appearing, as if he was a ghost? WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? Well...nobody knows. Ghosts. Aliens. Giant animals. Orbs. Mysterious Feds. Weird dad. No answers.
Disappointed, even though it did keep my interest.

shareThe ranch is located in an area where portals open to different dimensions. The aliens, the dog, the Pumpkinhead rip off creature all come from different dimensions. For some reason they open in that area. The military knew about it, so they sent in the team to investigate. The "ghost" kid was just stuck in another dimension and seemed to be trying to communicate. Or he was just an image used by the creatures to mess with the team and father. In the end they all died or were taken and god knows what happened to them. I think one of the articles says some bodies were found and others went missing, so who knows.
I think it was pretty interesting film. Would have liked to have a better explanation or more closure, but hey thats how movies like this usually end. :/
