Gene Roddenberry

I've always thought of Gene Roddenberry as a visionary, this documentary doesn't exactly discount that, but the overall negativity offered about his presence and contributions leaves a bad feeling. I think the contributors on this doc forget if it wasn't for Gene Roddenberry there wouldn't be a Star Trek and all the spinoffs. I'm sure he was stubborn and difficult, but not many leaders aren't. One of the criticism was the positivity he saw for the future of mankind, (in TNG) the writers found it difficult to write for perfect people. I get it, but I for one think it's great to think about, people evolving to the better, what a concept?! Thanks for that Mr. Roddenberry, it's an endearing hopeful projection I appreciate.
