I saw this episode on DVD recently. Elizabeth was a novice at baking, therefore she only made a one layer chocolate cake. A guy that was using an alias brought it for $2 I believe, since he had a bogus crush on her. Has anyone ever attended a cake auction in recent times at county or state fairs?

$2 in 1913 would be $48 today. So that's way too much for a cake!
