no logical person would want to take care of a cut before leaving. I thought it was him bc of the "dead" cell phone n we never see what the friends r doing. And David when Emily says he's behind me he asks who

You're being illogical. If they ended up running through a field and she lost her shoe, that could have become seriously infected.

I hate it when people don't get my sense of humor. I was being facetious about stopping to put on a band aid when your being chased by a murderer. Just get out of the house! First Aid later.

I've read a lot of message boards, and it seems putting a few exclamation marks helps the hard of thinking to recognise a joke.
