References in "Shaun the Sheep"? *Spoilers*

One of the great things about Shaun, besides everything, are the references and tributes to other films throughout the TV series and, presumably, this "feature film."

I'm assuming that the close-to-the-end scene with the crazed animal control officer is a tribute to the scene in Jurassic Park II with the trailer dangling over the cliff, being pushed by the tyrannosaurs.

Any other notable tributes/references spotted?

The Lecter cat in the animal "prison" scene was hysterical.

Also the Monty Python Holy Grail reference with the horse riding/coconuts joke.

At the end there was a The Shawshank Redemption reference too.. The dog sitting in the cell along with Shaun and the dog had actually dug a hole in the wall and escaped leaving the hole covered with a cutout!

I had just worked up a similar thread not seeing this. So I deleted that and will add what I found...two i have not seen acknowledged so far.

I know nothing about the series as in the US, but the movie has vaulted to the upper echelon of favorite animated flicks. It is well known there are quite a few movie/pop culture references strewn about.

Im sure there's plenty more but in one one viewing I found...

1) Silence of the Lambs homage (animal jail)
2) Cape Fear homage (Keeper coming out from under trailer)
3) Beatles Abbey Road homage (farm animals walking across crosswalk street)
4) Nursery rhyme reference (Cow Jumped over the Moon <Tavern>)

"Terminator" in use of the vision goggles of the Catcher
"Babe" at the end when he's pretty much relaying Hoggett's "That'll do pig, that'll do"

Blakey from "On The Buses" in the scene where the crowd are falling asleep? and "I Robot" where Shaun draws the window view?

Reference to Predator when the animal controller is scanning their foot prints with enhanced vision.

The X-men Wolverine poster of the farmer with his clippers (instead of claws). They even call him "Mr. X".

In addition to ones mentioned here and in the "Connections" page of the IMDb entry, there's an homage to The Night of the Hunter. In that film, Robert Mitchum's character has the word "LOVE" tattooed on the fingers of one hand, and "HATE" on the fingers of the other. In this film, one of the dogs in the pound has "BARK" and "BITE" on his front paws.

Don't forget Cape Fear, with the animal catcher hiding on the bottom of camper back to the farm, just like Robert Mitchum (or Robert Dinero in the later version).

I also thought the love hate tatoos on the fingers was from cape Fear

The scene where Shaun is running to catch up to the trailer and is pulled in is a scene from Von Ryan's Express. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059885/
