Why?

Why does this film got such positive reviews? This was pretty much on par with boxtrolls, with its childish and campy humor aimed at 9-year-olds, a bit melodramatic at parts, a bit boring in the middle, and too much slapstick and disgusting humor going on. I'll check Minions and Sponge Out of Water out and hope they will be better than this mediocre film that's not quite worth watching. It was a bit too innocent of an escapade! There could've been more tense, I guess.

There was confused dialogue from all of the characters and it would've been better if nobody just talked! Why do the humans talk with the same speech the sheep have?

Home is better! And more watchable than this! It had no disgusting humor nor slapstick or campy humor but it was silly and boring at the beginning. It was not even that cutesy or really melodramatic neither!

Come on, Aardman, you can do better execution than this!

What was the disgusting humor in Shaun the Sheep?

I remember the belch, but that's a lot less disgusting than eating urinal cakes and drinking pee.

Somebody's butt was showing.

I'm pretty sure someone's butt showed in Home as well.

reply

I don't remember any butts.

reply

Even so, urinal cake ingestion & urine imbibing trumps butt showing.

It wasn't the full Monty. It was the farmer showing a plumber's crack in the opening scene(s) where they show every day is basically the same.

reply

This right here makes you seem like a troll. They showed a butt crack so it was disgusting?

They didn't have to aim the camera on it.

I hope that there is an Evangelion video game where you can beat Asuka up!

reply

This is strictly a kiddie film, not aimed at adults. It was boring nonsense.

SHAUN THE SHEEP; BOXTROLLS: 5/10
MINIONS; HOME: 4/10
SPONGE OUT OF WATER: 6/10

The worst bit of "gross" humor in Shaun is a belch. Big deal.

Don't you dare compare SpongeBob 2 and Home to this masterpiece of a film. Had the misfortune of seeing sponge out of water in theaters. As a fan of the old sponggebob I wanted to gouge my eyes out.

Shaun meanwhile does a fantastic job. It's fun, enjoyable, great characters, and damn it is it fun to look at. To top it all off they literally accomplish it by not saying a word which is brilliant

I agree. I can't believe that this has a 7.3 rating.
Me and my wife watched it last night and both were like, "That's an hour and a half we'll never get back." We found it super boring and cheesy as well. I had seen Wallace and Gromit and thought it was decent so we got this from Redbox (but we should have gotten something else).
BTW, I actually liked Boxtrolls (7), and Home (6) was decent. At least they kept us interested where we didn't want to fast forward.
