I would have to take drugs to make me dumber to appreciate this movie. It was so laughable.
Even if you can suspend disbelief and buy into the 10% theory, all the hypothtical scenarios are just dumb. And the whole thing with time travel just by her sitting there, OK.
Everyone complaining about this movie complains about the same thing, but the big ideas are not being discussed. That time travel scene was beautiful. This entire film was exploring the nature of our existence, the Earth and the cosmos in a philosophical way. It's art disguised as Hollywood junk. The point of the film isn't about the mystery drug or getting even with that gang, it's about a person's journey to physical growth.

FilmAddict: You're absolutely right; the scenes were beautiful and thought-provoking. I merely watched because hubby loves Scarlett. The joke was on him because he was expecting an action/thriller and I got a film that was original and pure artistry.

The 'big ideas' are not worthy of being discussed, they are for simpletons. Like we haven't seen such time travel scenes at various attractions in NYC. Typical idiocy is that of exploring 'human nature' with the typical egoist garbage of evolution involving increased intelligence or knowledge. The movie is Hollywood junk that is unmistakably Hollywood junk.
I was/am drunk and this was still a horrible movie. So much junk science throughout the majority of the movie that it's just downright hilarious. Anyone who graduated high school should know this is just wrong. Then the end sequence when she goes through time or whatever and then all of a sudden there are natives there with nothing of New York being there. Yet they have horses?! Horses are not native to the Americas. The Dutch settled there in 1614. The horse was introduced to the mainland in mexico in 1519. I guess they could have gotten there. But still implausible.
Many small errors? Care to elaborate on these so called 'small errors'?
If you mean the '10% brain usage' theory, it was no error, it was referring to what could happen if we used the human brain to it's full potential, not the amount we use.
The spiritual philosophy it promoted was very powerful in my eyes, and it's very possible that the meaning of Life is spiritual in nature, something bigger than Humanity itself.
That use of ableist slur was very immature though I have to say... completely unnecessary.
...I literally just explained in my post that the '10% brain usage' theory was not an error of the movie as it was going on brain usage at it's full potential rather than the amount we use of it, so posting that article was useless.

Right, and if we meditate long enough we will access our brain's 'full potential' and discover this 'meaning of life'
