Inquiry about the dad (spoiler)

The photo he snapped of his daughter that had the face in the background:

Why did her not say anything about that. His wife, his daughter, and the babysitter had all mentioned something to him about odd occurrences. Yet he didn't think that photo had any relevancy to their problems?

The history of the burned children had nothing to do with the children who died from the mercury poisoning. Was there suppose to be a connection of some sort? The writers started with one story, dumped it, and moved to the other.

This wasn't the best of movies, but it was okay. Glad it was for free on Netflix.

There was a whole festival where local children were bandaged - why would he (initially) doubt that the child in the picture was anything but a normal (albeit creepy looking) village kid? Neither of the parents believed in the legend (as evidenced by them firing Catalina) until the night Hannah was abducted.

The village history was a red herring. The two stories weren't related. The story of the burning temple may not even have happened the way it was described - it was part of the local mythology. But the parents of the children poisoned by mercury didn't even know what had happened to their kids - they just disappeared into the jungle (according to the psychic lady). I can see why their ghosts (in context of this narrative) would be even angrier than those burned in the temple - no one even mourned them, because they were abducted and their bodies were hidden.

I have to be honest, I liked it. I gave it a 6 out of 10. I've always thought Julia Stiles was a good actress, and the little girl was adorable and very good in her role (IMO).

They're coming to get you, Barbara!

Initially he wouldn't. And he didn't. But once strange things starting happening, even he suspected something. He even blew up the pic to see it better. Indicative of someone who suspects it was more than just a village kid. Yet he decided to keep it to himself. Odd.
