Sexual Harassment

He does all this research and knows so much, but apparently, he doesn't know that he was sexual harassing Nina.

reply

He knew but he also decided that it was what he needed to do to get what he wanted. Nina could have had him thrown out for his advances but she was unwilling to sacrifice losing his reports. In the end they both got what they really wanted. You gotta remember not all men and woman object to sexual harassment, only when they object is something done about it. Did we observe Nina objecting?

Lou

reply

She did object, however, she didn't want to risk losing her career.

reply

He either didnt understand what he was doing or didnt care. Lou is good at reciting facts he memorized off the internet, but he doesnt truly understand a lot of things and hes pretty horrible at social interactions.

reply

That was the creepest scariest scene in the entire movie, him blackmailing her. Sad those things really happen.

reply

It wasn’t blackmail, he made an offer and she accepted.

reply

Sorry, but I have a hard time believing someone as strong-willed as her would let herself basically get extorted by anybody, let alone someone so socially awkward. Is it implied that they went all the way, or maybe stopped short? He did say he wanted to do things that she wouldn't let him.

reply

The movie went to pretty good lengths to illustrate exactly how he was able to leverage the fact that her career was tenuously hanging by a thread. Her "strong will" was precisely the reason she decided to go ahead and do something she considered abhorrent in order to get what she wanted.

reply

She loved Lou sexually harassing her and it showed
