I'm rereading the shack and man oh man, I really hope they are making this a movie. Many people need to see this, read this and feel what I have felt while reading it. Specifically the talk between j and m on the dock....I need to see that laugh....
My sister in law just gave me this book...just started it and already am loving it. Hope this movie really happens as well
shareI have read this several times and have given several copies away. I am usually reluctant to have a great story (like this one) made into a movie. If the makers are still considering Oprah for the role of Papa, I personally feel that would be a mistake. Nothing personally against her, but I think an 'unknown' would be more successful in that role; the viewers have never SEEN Papa and we have seen Oprah. :)

shareI also hope it's real!! But a tad concerned they have cast a man for the role of Papa.. Is Hollywood just not ready for it? Am sure Graham Greene is a good actor but he's no lady! It's kinda a big point to go messing around with.. Sigh. Guess they won't really do it justice!

shareIf you remember, the book has Papa being portrayed, initially as a woman, but later as a man; this casting, of both Octavia Spencer and Graham Green, as Papa, maintains the narrative of the book.

shareMovie always butcher books. It's just a time restrictions. I just hope they try to follow the storyline closely. And not add or change anything. I'm sure they will omit a lot.
