Was Tracy in love with Brooke ?

I thought that from the beginning
and at the end I could totally see them living together as a lesbian couple

I think she was just really lonely and needed someone to appreciate her. Tracy admired Brooke for her social skills and Brooke admired Tracy's true passion for something (literature/Brookes restaurant). The restaurant was just something she pretended to care about because she wanted to appear like she was where she wanted to be in life. They complemented each others flaws. To me this movie was all about loneliness and the feeling of misplacement in life and how fragile it can leave you.

She said so somewhere in there.

No, Tracy admired Brooke's vivacity and free-spiritedness. Tracy is a writer, and so she is fascinated by the contradictions in Brooke's character. She is also a lonely and insecure college freshman and Brooke becomes her friend and almost her sister. There is no sexual attraction between them.

Do you think love can exist only if the people have sex? The question implies you do.

There are many kinds of love. Family members can love each other. People can love their pets. People can love their automobile. The word love means so many things that the word is meaningless.

Did you not know that sisters can love each other? It is possible. Do you think it is abnormal? In fact I think some people think it should be normal.
