I'm not sure what keeps me watching

I looked forward each week to a homey story in a quaint setting. This season it is just scene after scene of people pairing off with the wrong person. Jack and Olivia have spent no time together. How do they expect to work on their relationship? She seems to have fallen out of love with him. I find her flirtatious behavior with Paul both childish and unbecoming to her position. This week Justine has her eye on yet another young man. She sees the guy at Moon's and is already trying to get involved in his life. Is it any of her business whether he's divorced or not? Her boyfriend better look out, she's been down this path before. I think there are too many characters in this program. They show brief scenes of each but nothing really happens. The horse trainer from Cliff's needs to move on, she caused trouble for Cliff and Grace and now Jack is hanging around with her a bit too much. The three girl roommates are also of no consequence. Okay, I know it's just a TV show. I just wish there was a little more meat to it, more plot with fewer characters.

I tend to agree with you, it's becoming like a soap opera, but without daily updates. The preview for next week has them still at the restaurant where they just arrived at the end of this week's episode. So zero time has passed. That's why I say it's like a soap, where time moves like a turtle. I feel like the first season was excellent, and I guess I'm hanging around because now I feel invested in the characters.

Yes gilroy Justine is getting on my nerves. It's not her job to rescue everyone! I think Alex is a better match for Jack than Olivia. I'm not feeling the chemistry between Olivia and Paul either
And why do the Time and Tide couple keep meddling in everyone's business!
I do like Warren's wife not sure that's going anywhere though

And side note, those purple balloons, and that whole purple party theme was awful...it looked like Barney threw up everywhere! ;)

Couldn't agree more. I watched a week or so ago's episode and it was such a yawn that I've given up so I'm pretty sure what's stopped me from watching at last.

It's boring. The plot lines go nowhere, really. There's little to no tension. Olivia's frozen face and holier-than-thou act grates on my nerves, everybody seems to be tranquilized and even if they had top notch writers, which I don't think they do, the actors are subpar and seem to be just reading lines.

Not worth my time anymore. Sad, really, because it had potential. Love "When Calls The Heart". Go back to those writers/actors/so on and revisit that one and throw this out.

I honestly don't know why I continue to watch. The stories and characters seem to have been written by an eighth grader -- so juvenile.

I did like the first season of WHEN CALLS THE HEART, but after the first season I couldn't abide the show. The costumes, makeup and behavior of the characters were so historically inaccurate, it was ridiculous.

I wonder who Halmark hires to write and produce these shows? They need to get people with more professional expertise.

I agree completely.

The 3rd Season of WCTH is so much better! I think they listened to the complaints so many of us had and dialed it back. It's still a little too polished for my taste, but it doesn't look like Gossip Girl anymore.

reply

I like Season 3 too because they added a bit more humor.

I love everything about it. The whole scenery is beautiful, the characters and just everything.
