Could the ending be smarter than we think?
I really enjoyed this movie. It wasn't one of Woody's best, but it certainly wasn't one of his worst -- until the ending. So abrupt, it felt rushed and cheap. But then I thought about it more, and maybe the ending is meant to show the audience how we are all a little like Stanley. We can't accept happiness. We can't accept the happy ending, and ironically would have been happier with a more realistic, and more pessimistic ending. Thoughts?
