Sean is proof that you should not just write off someone, especially someone so young, even if they have committed horrible crimes. Nobody is saying this is "boys will be boys", nobody is saying that they should not have to serve serious time, nobody is saying that it is easy to rehabilitate them...nobody is saying any of those things. This documentary is simply raising questions: Can we make a blanket statement that every person who commits murder should be locked away for life? Shouldn't we consider circumstances, particularly age since it is absolutely factual that the brain is not fully developed until late teens/early 20s and the specific parts that are not developed are those involved in impulse control and understanding consequences?
I cannot look at every single one of these young men and say "No matter what you do, no matter how far your progress, you will never even have the possibility of release".
