Did anybody expect a movie based on a Sony game to be good?

This movie is going to come off the same way every Sony game does... low marketed trash their fans won't even support. Kids don't even like Ratchet and Clank, this is going to be Flop City.

If you want to make movies based on video games, Halo and Gears of War are where its at. They'll get massive marketing from Microsoft, plus the games have sold so many copies that it has a solid fanbase built in, since Xbox has better games than Sony.

Seriously...

This game franchise has been around for 14 years, has 9 full console games, 3 spin offs and 2 mobile games. Clearly it has a fan base.

Stop with the XBox is better than PlayStation *beep*

Or maybe read better, the OP is clearly an Xbox fan of trolling a movie because it's based on a Sony game. The OP is being called an undersexed xbot because of that. No one said anyone that doesn't like the movie is undersexed.

I thought the movie looked decent, fyi, but the early reviews are enough to temper that a bit.

On the point of this game franchise, it's a highly successful game franchise that has been going g for a little g time, the newest release/remake has gotten great reviews and has actually been sold out around my area, so still clearly a market for the game, so sorry OP there are other game franchises suited for other media besides Halo and Gears, both of which have less titles than ratchet and clank and have both been going downhill and 5his comes from a huge halo fan

Nope. I knew this movie was going to be crap. It just looked like they took a bunch of cut-scenes from the games and made a movie out of them. Plus, do people still even play or remember the Ratchet & Clank games? This movie is going to be a big flop.

given that there was a HD rerelease in 2011 and the other games around that time (tools, booty, crack in time, nexus) and the most recent HD remake this year/month which got positive reviews.

No of course people have forgotten this franchise the same as Sonic, Mario, Zelda, starfox, Resident Evil and so on.

I like GOW but a movie would just be a bunch of buff guys cussing at monsters. That's not very entertaining.

LOL. A Halo or Gears of War movie would be absolute failures. They know this, which is why it does not exist as a movie.

Halo and Gears have twenty times the blockbuster potential over this. Those game's series have sold over 65 and and 40 million each respectively. These are world-known franchises. Last gen, Xbox was gaming. Playstation's current success is a complete fluke.

I'm an Xbox fan and I'm glad we haven't got a Gears of war and halo movie becomes it'll taint the franchise. I was hoping this was good so we can get the first good video game movie but we didn't.

I think MS would hold out for having more competent filmmakers to take on the project. This movie has ruined the Ratchet and Clank brand. Only because it's going to make several "Worst Animated Movies Ever" lists.

Come on, it's not that bad. It's not the best ever, by a long way, but it's certainly not down there with Food Fight or those Titanic cartoons. To me, it played like they'd just cobbled it together from cutscenes with some linking scenes added to replace the gameplay.
